Andronescu met Saturday with over 250 headmasters, officials of the Harghita count school inspectorate and mayors throughout the county.
The minister told teachers she will continue to push for higher wages.
"Unfortunately, that promise was made before elections, when there was a different state budget draft. We’ll have to manage our funds wisely during this crisis, but I promise that teachers won’t be left out,” Andronescu said.
She also said teachers would get a 13th salary, in March at the latest. She said teachers didn’t get it so far because the ministry had to pay RON1,200 million in debt to contractors who fixed schools.
