He was arrested together with Doru Dendiu, a journalist for national station TVR, Antena 3 editorial director Aura Titiriga told MEDIAFAX.
Terguta said he was picked up and held in custody for 6 hours. No charges were brought against him; he was asked to describe what he did on April 6 and 7. He had been under surveillance for several days.
Doru Dendiu was released by Chisinau police around 4.30 p.m.
Also, three Antena 3 reporters – Dan Nitescu, Victor Ciprian Alexandru and Petru Terguta -, reached Romanian territory safely Thursday night, after having been under OSCE protection. Aura Titiriga said the station had decided to recall the three, due to their being subject to intimidation from Moldovan authorities, in the last 48 hours.
Recently, several Romanian TV and newspaper journalists have been harassed by Moldovan authorities or expelled from the country.
