"My mission is clear," Stolojan said, adding he would collaborate with his fellow democrat liberals, and with social democrats and the Hungarian party to draft a governing program suitable for the current situation the country is facing following international financial turmoil and global recession.

Stolojan said he plans to form a cabinet within ten days.

"If this government gets the confidence vote, and I’m convinced it will, we have two very urgent missions,” he said, mentioning the government’s program for 2009 and the relaunch of essential reforms in sectors such as healthcare and education
