Hot Weather, Rainfall, Windstorm Prompt Yellow Code Advisory For 22 Romanian Counties

Hot weather prompted Romania’s weather service to extend a yellow code warning to 22 counties in southeastern and western Romania, where temperatures of up to 36 degrees Celsius, rainfall and windstorm are expected until Sunday evening.

Meteorologists warn that thermal discomfort will be higher in the western part of the country and mountain areas from Saturday evening until Sunday evening.

Forecasts also indicate strong wind, lightning, more than 25 liters of rain per square meter, isolated rainfall of 50 liters per square meter, as well as hail in isolated areas.  
 
On Sunday, July 19, temperatures are expected to reach 35 – 36 degrees Celsius, while the temperature-humidity indicator will exceed the 80 threshold in some places.
 
The advisory targets the counties of Satu Mare, Bihor, Arad, Timis, Caras-Severin, Mehedinti, Hunedoara, Alba, Cluj, Salaj, Bistrita-Nasaud, Mures, Sibiu, Gorj, Valcea, Maramures, Galati, Braila, Ialomita, Calarasi, Tulcea and Constanta.
