Bucharest-Ploiesti Highway To Open For Traffic Next Spring – PM

„Basically, the highway will be finished this December except for a very important bridge that will take longer,” said Boc, adding the road will be open for traffic in April 2012 at the latest.

Works on the Bucharest – Ploiesti highway are split into two sectors: Bucharest-Moara Vlasiei, built by the Italian consortium Impressa Pizzarotti/Tirrena Scavi, and Moara Vlasiei-Ploiesti, built by local consortium Spedition UMB/Pa&Co Internaţional/Euroconstruct ’98/Com-Axa.

So far, 25 kilometers of the highway have been completed and the total cost for the works amounts to EUR450 million and the road is supposed to be completed by the end of the year.
