Udrea said the law is working and tickets are up for sale. She said holiday tickets were available the week before Easter and thousands were sold by Easter.

The tourism minister said there are nine companies that issue and sell holiday tickets for various destinations in the country.

The government approved in February the introduction of holiday tickets for employees and set their value at up to six gross minimum wages a ticket. Romania’s minimum gross wage is currently set at RON600 per month.
