Romania Swine Flu Cases Climb To 47

Romania confirmed its 47th swine flu infection on Tuesday, in a 23-year-old man who travelled from the U.K. recently, the Health Ministry said in a statement.

The patient was admitted to the infectious diseases hospital “Matei Bals” in Bucharest and his health condition is good, the ministry said.
 
Medical authorities started epidemiological investigations to identify and test the persons who might have been exposed to the 23-year-old man. Four people have been found so far.
 
None of the 47 swine flu infections confirmed in Romania resulted in the patient’s death.
 
Worldwide, the current strain of H1N1 influenza A virus infected over 77,201 people in 120 states and regions, leaving 332 people dead, according to the latest figures released by the World Health Organization (WHO).
