Romania’s March Net Salary Up 5.6% M-M, To RON1,493

The gross average salary was at RON2,056 in March, up 5.8% from the previous month, the statistics data showed.

Employees on the tobacco production segment saw the highest average net salaries, namely RON5,001, while hotel and restaurant employees were at the opposite pole, with RON839.

Net average salary in agriculture was up 2.2% on the month, at RON1,071, while employees in the energy sector saw a 4.5% salary increase on the month in March, to RON2,625.

Net salaries in industry averaged RON1,486 in March, up 6.4% on the month.

Compared with March 2010, the average net salary in Romania was down 1.1%. (EUR1=RON4.1065)
