Bolojan: Economic competitiveness and European defense on the agenda of the European Council

„We need a competitive economy to provide prosperity to European citizens, to create better jobs for people and to ensure development in the future. Here, there will be several topics, the simplification part, the administrative facilities part so that the burdens on companies are much lower than what we have today,” Bolojan said before the meeting.

He said that energy will also be discussed, „so that there is cheaper energy for families and for companies,” but also about „a unification of capital markets, so that both the loans that companies take out and the financial investments that people make are more advantageous for them.”

„On the defense side, which is related to the competitive economy, there will be discussions about Ukraine, about the development of the European defense industry, so that in addition to increasing defense spending, there will be a favorable economic effect through the development of European defense conglomerates to create new jobs in European economies, to develop research and technology, and there will also be discussions about the Middle East and there will be a meeting with the UN Secretary General,” Bolojan added.
