According to the explanatory note to a draft Government decision drawn up by the Economy Ministry, the measure is required in order to carry out restructuring, privatization, patrimony administration and other activities in line with Government decree 95/2002 regulating the defense industry.
In 2010, the Government reduced the maximum number of employees in the defense sector by around 300, to 1,655, from 1,967 in 2009. Of the 1,967 defense sector employees, 1,654 worked at defense equipment and services provider Romarm.
The maximum number employees at Romarm will be kept unchanged, namely 1,200, while aeronautical company Romaero will have 250 employees, up 25% compared to last year.
Aeronautical company Avioane Craiova will have 150 employees, up 34% compared to 2010.
The only company which will have fewer employees is aeronautical company Constructii Aeronautice, namely 8 employees, from 11 last year.
