British American Tobacco Invests EUR60M in Ploiesti Production Line
British American Tobacco, the largest cigarette manufacturer in Romania, said it will invest EUR60 million in its facility in Ploiesti this year, triple the amount estimated at the end of last year.

BAT will build a new production hall and upgrade technologies throughout the facility.
The company announced it November 2016 it planned to invest around EUR21 million in the factory in Ploiesti throughout a five-year period.
The cigarette manufacturer is expanding its production capabilities in Romania due to a gradual closing of its facility in Germany, its takeover of Bulgartabac in Bulgaria, from where part of the manufacturing volumes will be moved to Ploiesti, and the optimization of production volumes in Western Europe.
Following expansion, the production unit in Ploiesti will require 120 more employees, adding to the exiting 700 and 150 contractors, the company said. Production volumes are set to grow 30% following these investments.
The British American Tobacco facility in Ploiesti is currently the group's second largest in Europe.
