Bucharest 1st District Schools To Have Panic Buttons By End June
According to local authorities, panic buttons are currently in use by 45 schools in the first district.
“We have destroyed a mentality and have developed a service. Given the actual climate, characterized by increased criminality, the authorities in charge must respond with real measures to prevent any type of aggression against citizens,” Bucharest 1st District mayor, Andrei Chiliman said.
The security solution was initiated by the mayoralty in the districted, with the help of the General Department of Community Police.
Authorities’ response time to potential violent situations is of maximum seven minutes after the panic button is pushed, community police officials said.
