The results are due to operating revenue obtained as a result of an increase in passenger traffic and of measures aimed at optimizing the airport activity starting with the second quarter of 2017.
Early September this year, the company said it plans to build a new terminal on Henri Coanda (Otopeni) International Airport within a project worth EUR818.5 million. The terminal is meant to double the airport’s capacity. The project for the extension of the Otopeni airport will consist of two stages and will require an investment of EUR818.5 million. Works will start in 2022 and, according to feasibility studies, each stage will take three years, airport company representatives said during an event organized by investment fund Fondul Proprietatea at the time.
CNAB became operational in 2010, following the merger of the two companies managing the capital city’s airports. The company is held by the Romanian state through the Transport Ministry (80%) and Fondul Proprietatea (20%).
