Bucharest Consumers To Buy Agro-Food Products At Mobile Markets
Bucharest agro-food traders will be able to sell their products directly to consumers in mobile agro-food markets, Mayor Sorin Oprescu said Monday, following a meeting with Romanian Agriculture Minister Dacian Ciolos and the president of the Agrostar Federation trade union, Nicolae Stefan.

“We met to discuss fighting black marketers and developing a joint project with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrostar regarding mobile district markets,” Oprescu said at the end of the meeting.
Oprescu said Ciolos was “extremely open” to the idea of mobile agro-food markets. In fact, Ciolos said the agriculture ministry initiated a project to set up mobile markets across the country, Oprescu mentioned.
He said the mobile markets will be initially meant for fresh products – vegetables and fruit –, and afterward will be “personalized” so that customers will get used to buying certain products in designated days during the week.
Oprescu mentioned the first markets should be available to consumers in a matter of “weeks, not months.”
