Summit organizers and a team from the Transport Ministry met Friday morning. The Ministry of Transport was informed that from the point of view of organizers, there is no scenario to entail closing the airports and such an idea was never considered.
 
Monday Antonel Tanase, state secretary in the Ministry of Transports, said Monday the airports would be closed during the Bucharest-hosted NATO summit early April.
 
He added Bucharest would be a closed city during the three days of the summit, and traffic restrictions will be imposed on national road 1, north of the capital.
 
The NATO summit, one of the largest political events, will bring together in Bucharest leaders of the 26 allied states on April 2-4.
