"We will merge; the joint union has already been registered, I have the papers in my case," Radoi said as he left the Titan road depot, where the unionists' protest took place.
In the absence of RATB union leaders, Radoi, a former social democrat deputy, helped the unionists put together a list of demands, which they presented to Bucharest Mayor Sorin Oprescu, according to a RATB employee who took part in the talks.
Public transport employees went on strike Thursday morning saying their pay has decreased, with an austerity budget providing no overtime or Easter bonuses. After talks with Mayor Oprescu, who promised to boost the union two levels in the public sector unitary wage grid, the strike ended.
