With this in mind, on Tuesday the Ministry signed a protocol with RATB. The new buses will run on weekends and legal holidays and a ticket will cost 15 lei (EUR1=RON4.2476).
Udrea said the lines will link to landmarks of national interest. She added that customers will be able to attend the religious services held in the monasteries.
The minister said the project had been in the works since last year, but she was unable to implement it for lack of a partner.
"In RATB we have found a prompt partner, who made buses available for these trips. The Regional Development and Tourism Ministry has provided information on tourism attractions in Bucharest and Giurgiu County and will be involved in promoting these tours," said Udrea.
RATB official Adrian Crit said the new lines would be promoted through brochures available at ticket offices.
Tourists would receive information on the sights on LCD screens mounted inside buses.
