Bucharest Public Transport Authority To Spend EUR760,000 On Monitoring System
Bucharest's public transport authority (RATB) will buy a monitoring system for 1,000 buses and 100 trolley buses, estimating that the EUR760,000 investment will be compensated in less than a year by reducing costs associated with control terminal personnel.

The system will be made up of equipment for vehicle handling, dispatch and monitoring, as well as communication between drivers and dispatchers. The 1,000 Mercedes buses and 100 IRISBUS trolley buses on which the system will be installed will be tracked online and directed according to traffic conditions.
The new traffic monitoring and control system will improve the performance of RATB vehicles, since it will be suited to current traffic conditions, say RATB officials.
