Bucharest Public Transport Co Supplements Transport Vehicles Due To Subway Strike
Public road transport in Romania's capital Bucharest will be supplemented with 12% additional vehicles because of a general strike of subway employees Tuesday, November 17, public transport company RATB general manager Gheorghe Aron said Monday.

"We will supplement by 12% public transport vehicles in Bucharest, which means 200 additional vehicles will ensure transport starting tomorrow to transport passengers affected by the subway general strike," Aron told MEDIAFAX Monday.
Aron said about 47 bus, trolley and tram lines will benefit from additional vehicles to ensure passengers' transport, adding vehicles normally used during rush hours only will be on the capital's streets all day.
Romanian subway company Metrorex employees will go on a general strike as of Tuesday protesting rejected wage raise claims, and the subway will be closed for eleven hours, between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m., but will function normally from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.. About one third of the capital's population of 2 million uses the subway daily.
