Bucharest Ranked 38th Most Expensive City By Industrial Space Rents - C&W

Industrial space rents in Romania's capital city Bucharest remained unchanged last year, at EUR48/sqm per year, which places Bucharest 38th among 49 most expensive cities in terms of rental costs for industrial spaces, according to real estate consultancy firm Cushman & Wakefield.

Bucharest Ranked 38th Most Expensive City By Industrial Space Rents - C&W

At the end of 2008, yearly rental costs for industrial spaces in Bucharest, including rent and various services, reached EUR60/sqm (EUR5/sqm per month), with rental costs alone amounting to EUR48/sqm per year.
 
Budapest and Bratislava are the only markets in Central and Eastern Europe that provide lower rents for industrial spaces, namely EUR50.4/sqm and EUR58/sqm, respectively. Other capitals in the region charge more on rents, namely EUR79/sqm per year in Sofia, and EUR74.4/sqm per year in Warsaw.
 
The highest rents for industrial spaces are seen in London’s Heathrow area - EUR185/sqm per year, Tokyo- EUR179.48/sqm per year and Dublin -EUR157.5/sqm per year, whereas the lowest rents for industrial spaces are seen in Mexico City - EUR43.41/sqm per year, Calabarzon in the Philippines -EUR31.14/sqm per year and Jakarta, Indonesia -EUR32/sqm per year.
