Bucharest’s Intl Airports To Be Closed During NATO Summit

Bucharest’s international airports "Aurel Vlaicu" Baneasa and "Henri Coanda" Otopeni will be closed during the Bucharest-hosted NATO summit in April, and operators will use other airports in the country, said Monday Antonel Tanase, state secretary in the Ministry of Transports.

Bucharest’s’ Intl Airports To Be Closed During NATO Summit

Tanase said Bucharest will be a closed city during the three days of the summit, and traffic restrictions will be imposed on national road 1, north of the capital.
 
The NATO summit, one of the largest political events, will bring together in Bucharest leaders of the 26 allied states on April 2-4.
 
Officials of the two airports and of airliners operating there agreed with the decision to close the airports.
