Bucharest Subway Co. Pays RON56M For Disabled Access Elevators

Bucharest subway company Metrorex will pay some 55.9 million lei (EUR1-RON4.2175), VAT exclusive, to mount special elevators and platforms for the locomotor disabled.

The public bid will take place in September.

The contract is financed from a European Investments Bank loan and from the state budget.

Eligible companies have until September 17 to file their offers. The price will count for 60% in selecting the winner, while technical performances will count for 40%.

Metrorex’s network includes 47 terminals.

The company is having replaced 79 out of its total 100 escalators at the terminals, in a contract worth RON70 million.
