Bucharest Intl Airport Invests RON6.7M In Explosive Detection

Bucharest’s international airport “Henri Coanda” plans to spend over RON6.7 million in February next year on explosive detection equipment, the airport said in a statement.

The contract will be attributed in an open bid on February 12 and entails the installation of three automated EDS-CT explosive detection systems and system maintenance services.
 
The systems are to be delivered within 90 days of attribution and the company that wins the bid also has to provide adequate training to airport employees.
 
The airport is 80% owned by the Ministry of Transportation, and 20% by investment fund Fondul Proprietatea.
