The survey, conducted quarterly by Manpower Inc., reports on findings from the United States and 32 countries and territories around the world, of which 17 countries in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
The survey indicates employers in Romania and Hong Kong report the most optimistic hiring plans.
The United States saw the weakest employment outlook over the past five years, which translates into cautiousness mainly due to turmoil in the financial, constructions, insurance and real estate sectors.
The survey measured the employers’ intentions to increase or decrease the number of employees in their workforce during the next quarter.
Some 15,000 employers in the EMEA region were interviewed in this respect.
