Nica said social democrats and democrat liberals, that make up the country’s governing coalition, analyzed a plan of measures to stimulate the economy and the government’s priorities regarding the 2009 state budget.
Nica added the government will decide to pay debts amassed in 2008 to companies that have been blocked because they haven’t received their money from the state.
"We think we’ll have a decision regarding the state budget by the end of this week, and then we’ll send it to Parliament,” Nica said.
He added there was no talk during the meeting of who will replace Gabriel Oprea as interior minister. A new interior minister will be nominated during the Social Democratic Party’s national executive committee meeting later in the day, he said.
Oprea resigned last week after social democrat leaders withdrew his political support because he had appointed people in key positions within the Ministry of Interior without consulting party leaders first.
