Russian Leader Putin’s Vanguard Arrives In Bucharest

Some 90 Russian specialists arrived Thursday on the Otopeni Airport in Bucharest, on board a special flight, their mission being to prepare the highly anticipated visit of Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Bucharest, official sources told MEDIAFAX.

The delegation, mostly technicians, electronics specialists and transmission specialists, forerun the potential arrival of the Russian leader for the NATO summit.

Putin’s presence in Bucharest remains uncertain. Moreover, asked about the matter, Romanian foreign affairs minister Adrian Cioroianu recently said that Putin’s arrival will only be a certainty when he gets on the plane, in Moscow.

One month ago, a delegation of 20 Russian officials checked the Parliament Palace, in the outlook of the NATO summit and Vladimir Putin’s arrival. The delegation’s visit was unofficial, Romanian television station Pro TV said at the time, adding that the Legislative’s headquarters had previously been inspected by officials from USA, UK, and Germany.
