Businesspeople want the drawing up of an emergency plan to be approved by the Parliament in October, similar to those in the United States, Germany and France, to reduce effects caused by the international financial crisis, the association wrote in a letter sent to the Parliament and to the Government.
"Romania is obligated to adopt measures leading to the alleviation of the negative impact generated by the global economic situation, as the country is dealing with slowdown in economic growth, especially in the industrial sector,” the letter read.
Businesspeople showed European and American authorities adopted measures to support the business environment. For example, the USA assigned $24 billion to the automotive industry, in France banks will lend $20 billion to the business environment, while the French presidency is analyzing ways to create a sovereign investment fund.
The association suggests authorities should set up fiscal lending for the people who are saving money to buy their first home, to a minimum EUR2,000 per year, to create guarantees for the funding of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and for an emergency fund of minimum EUR100 million for projects already taken up by the Ministry for SMEs and Freelancers.
Businesspeople want the increase at European level of subsidies granted to agriculture, and to stocks of strategic products in the national reserve, the constant stimulation of investments in the food products industry, in the renewable energy production and in energy efficiency.
They also encourage zero taxes for SMEs with a turnover up to EUR200,000 per year, and constant measures to bring people back on the labor market, the letter said.
The businesspeople ask the Government and the Parliament to publish the budget for 2009 and the one provisioned for the period 2010-2013, and to cut down expenses for the functioning of central and local authorities by at least 10% yearly, simultaneous with the high involvement of technology in the public administration’s activity and the outsourcing of IT activities.
