Romanian Boxer Lucian Bute Keeps IBF Super-Middleweight Title

After sending Andrade to the canvas in the tenth round, Bute nearly collapsed in the final round but was saved by the bell and retained his title.

 

 

"It was really tough, he’s a strong opponent. I’m glad I retained the title. It was the hardest fight in my career. I’d like to thank the audience for supporting me and God for helping me remain world champion,” 29-year-old Bute told Romanian public radio RRA.

 

 

Bute and Andrade are both in the top four of Ring Magazine rankings for the super middleweight division, along with Kessler and Australian Anthony Mundine.
