Romanian Govt Members To Submit Wealth Statements By Jan 5 – PM

Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc demanded Government members in Tuesday’s meeting to submit their wealth statements by January 5, 2009, in order to meet the deadline imposed by law after the taking of office.

He reminded that each member of the Cabinet must submit their wealth statement within 15 days after they are sworn in. The government was sworn in on December 22, 2008.

“This means that on Monday, January 5, when activity begins officially, each member of the Government must have their wealth statement submitted,” Boc told the ministers.

The Prime Minister said state secretaries, subsecretaries as well as Government advisers have the same obligation as the ministers.

The law states Government members have to submit wealth statements within maximum 15 days since they take office.

The Government had a meeting Tuesday, following informal talks on the draft budget for 2009.
