Banca Transilvania Shares Suspended From Trading In Bucharest

The shares of Romanian lender Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO) were suspended Monday from trading on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, following the indictment of the bank’s chairman on insider trading charges.

The shares were suspended 30 minutes after MEDIAFAX published the information.

Upon suspension, at GMT0935, Banca Transilvania shares were trading at 1.32 lei (EUR1=RON4.2471), down 6.38% on the reference.

Banca Transilvania’s chairman, Horia Ciorcila, was sent to trial on charges of insider trading and market manipulation, investigators announced Monday.

The case refers to bank share trades that allegedly brought an illegal profit of some RON200,000.
