Speaking after initial talks with the Democrat Liberal Party on Tuesday evening, Geoana said the two parties have yet to agree on several principles, such as government representation and the presence of minority Hungarian party UDMR in government.
Geoana said the new government might be validated by December 22.
Both Geoana and democrat liberal president Emil Boc denied any talks on ministries’ and portfolios’ distribution among party members, saying negotiations on the matter will be carried out after the premier is appointed.
However, people close to the matter said Tuesday evening the two parties reached a standstill regarding the leadership of four key-ministries, namely Transportation, Defense, Finance and Justice.
Both social democrats and democrat liberals want the four ministries, the mentioned sources said.
