Bread Price Could Rise 30% In Fall, Says Industry Union Leader

„The price of bread will grow this fall boosted by higher wheat prices. Considering the local wheat output has been widely affected by floods, imports and price hikes for local wheat will translate into a 30% price hike in October, November and December,” said Stefan.

He added price hikes are the direct consequences’ of the Agriculture Ministry’s bad policies.

„Romania shouldn’t have a problem with price hikes because we can feed not only the country’s population, but also an additional 80 million people. People in the Agriculture Ministry should be ashamed that 70-80% of products we find in local marketplaces are imported,” Stefan said.
