Parliament Adopts Individual Articles Of 2019 Budget
The combined plenary also approved indivdual budgets allotted for several public institutions, including the Presidential Administration, Senate, Lower Chamber, Supreme Court, Constitutional Court, Legislative Council, Court of Accounts, Competition Council and Ombudsman, among others.
The only amendments adopted were those approved by the combined budget-finance committee, with all opposition amendments rejected.
Romania’s government on Friday adopted the 2019 state budget, built on an economic growth projection of 5.5%, which critics said is overly optimistic, and targeting a deficit of 2.55% of gross domestic product.
The Parliament began plenary debates on the budget on Wednesday, with a final vote on the entire bill scheduled for Friday.
