Eugen Nicolaescu, head of liberal lawmakers within the Chamber of Deputies, on Monday said liberal deputies decided to call for the resignation of the country’s transport minister, blaming him for the messy situation in the country’s transport system.

Nicolaescu stressed the liberal deputies would send a letter to Prime Minister Emil Boc, asking him to sack Berceanu.

On September 22, railway unionists threatened to go on strike and asked for the resignation of the transport minister, the subsecretary of state Constantin Axinia and of the heads of railway units over the situation and the lack of strategies in the sector.
