Russia Salutes Romania’s Stance On Kosovo Independence

The Russian Embassy sent the Romanian Senate a letter in this respect Tuesday, attaching the translation of the joint declaration of the Duma speaker Boris Gryzlov and Russian Federation Council speaker Sergei Mironov regarding Kosovo.

 

The Romanian Parliament Monday evening adopted a declaration 357 to 27 votes, stating the country will not recognize independent Kosovo.

 

Russia on Sunday urged the UN and NATO to act immediately and called for an urgent session of the United Nations Security Council to look into the issue of Kosovo’s independence.

 

The Parliament in Pristina adopted Sunday the province’s declaration of independence presented by Prime Minister Hashim Thaci.
