Romanian Transp Min Appoints New General Manager At State-Run Airline Tarom

Brutaru, 29, previously filled the position of deputy general manager of Tarom and also ensured the interim period for two weeks, after Berceanu sacked Gheorghe Barla.

Tarom currently operates both domestic and international flights with a fleet of 23 airplanes.

Tarom operates 11 routes from Bucharest to Bacau, Baia Mare, Constanta, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Oradea, Targu Mures, Timisoara, Satu Mare, Sibiu and Suceava, and between these cities.

The company is owned by the Transport Ministry with 96.7%, while the other shareholders are the investment fund SIF Muntenia, Otopeni Bucharest Airport National Company and Romatsa.
