According to a Finance Ministry press release, the discussion targeted the partial or total annulment of some loans with an unsatisfactory degree of implementation, and the two institutions are to identify afterwards the possibility to reassign the respective money to other projects, following a joint analysis.

Pogea and Kalantzopoulos also talked about establishing the Country Partnership Strategy – CPS for the 2009-2011 period.

"The World Bank was a permanent partner for Romania in its period of transition and accession to the European Union. We appreciate the constant support and the Bank’s will to redefine its partnership with Romania, as new EU member. Romania’s Finance Ministry sustains the implementation of the projects financed by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development IBRD," Pogea said.
