Some 1,600 Romanian Companies Entered Insolvency In April

The number of insolvent companies was down also when compared with the same month a year ago, when there were 1,669 companies entering insolvency.

In January to April, over 7,800 companies filed for insolvency, up 18% from 6,594 in the similar period a year earlier.

Over 40% of all companies that entered insolvency in the first four months this year are active in commerce, some 16% operate in the processing industry and 15% activate in constructions.

The number of companies that entered insolvency throughout 2009 rose 25% to 18,421, compared to 14,724 in 2008.
