Romania’s Transports Ministry Leases Stadium To Football Mogul

Romania’s Ministry of Transports is to lease Rapid Stadium to businessman George Copos, main shareholder in FC Rapid Bucharest, for a period of 15 up to 20 years, for upgrade works worth EUR3 million.

"We have agreed with FC Rapid officials on the lease terms. The minimum sum of the investment program reaches EUR3 million, and the lease period will be over in 15-20 years’ time," transports minister Ludovic Orban said Thursday.
 
Orban cared to stress that some of the lease terms stipulate maintaining the destination of spaces within the football club, upgrading the stadium’s entrance spaces and restoring a part of the stadium’s infrastructure.
