Romanian Govt Oks Land Transfer For Passageway Construction Works

Orban said Tuesday he would submit to the Government for approval the government decision on transferring this land from the administration of the Bucharest Mayoralty into that of the Transport Ministry.

Town councilors approved in their meeting Monday the decision to transfer the land from the public domain of Bucharest into the public domain of state to continue construction works on the passageway.

Orban said last week that costs for construction works on the passageway might go up by nearly EUR4 million over changes in technical solutions, with the total sum reaching EUR16 million.

In August this year, prime minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu urged Orban to set up a team in charge with monitoring and speeding up construction works on the passageway.
