"When the issuing authority notifies the court, it can also request the suspension of the driving license, but only the court is allowed to order the suspension of the driving license, not the issuing authority," democrat liberal senator Mircea Andrei said.
"The law does not target a particular case, but all situations in general, and bans the issuing authority from suspending a driving license for just anybody, anytime and for any contravention," Andrei added.
The report adopted by the committee will be up for debate in the Senate’s plenary meeting and the Chamber of Deputies will have the final say on the matter.
