Romania Youth Min Calls For Cease Of Parliament Inquiry In The Wake Of Criminal Prosecution

Ridzi sent a letter to the Standing Office of the Chamber of Deputies, requesting the Chamber, on the basis of Law 304 corroborated with the Chamber’s Regulation, to take note that "the legislative investigation ceases under the law" in the wake of criminal probe regarding the file 147/P/2009 of the National Anticorruption Department.

 

On June 23, the Chamber approved setting up an inquiry committee to probe allegations of fund misappropriation against Ridzi.

 

The allegations of fund misappropriation were forwarded by liberal MPs, who claimed Ridzi mishandled money allocated for organizing the celebrations on Youth Day.

 

The inquiry committee will look into the way the money was spent.

 

Ridzi herself requested the lawmakers to clear setting up the committee.
