Travel Channel To Showcase Romanian Vineyards

Travel Channel will broadcast, starting with January 26, the new series of the show "Wine Country," presenting the vineyards in Romania, together with the vineyard traditions in Hungary and Bulgaria, television officials told MEDIAFAX.

The fourth series of the show “Wine Country,” called "Wine Country: from Budapest to the Black Sea", will premiere Monday, January 26, from 21:00, on Travel Channel. The show will present the vineyard traditions in Romanian historic regions Oltenia and Muntenia (southern Romania), capital city Bucharest and Constanta county (southeastern Romania).

The series, hosted by Isabelle Legeron, started in August 2008. Shooting in Romania started on September 30, 2008. The Romanian part was created with the help of Cristi Boerean, a connoisseur of international cuisine and wines.
 
"The series is currently in production (…) On the part about Romania we have involved a Romanian specialist, mister Cristi Boerean," Marius Girlea, general manager of Inner & Broadcasting Consulting Group, told MEDIAFAX. Inner & Broadcasting Consulting Group represents Travel Channel in Romania.
 
He added the episode on Romania will be viewed in all territories that receive Travel Channel, namely 117 countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
 
Travel Channel currently has some 4 million subscribers on the Romanian cable and DTH market, according to Marius Girlea.
