„ANRE is the one leading this activity, I have no other information,” Boc said when asked whether houshold gas bills would incraese this year.
In 2010, Romania’s central bank sees 5% higher gas prices, a 4% growth of the electricity price, and 5.2% higher heating prices in the basic scenario.
End-January, Tudor Serban, state secretary within the Economy Ministry, told MEDIAFAX that the household natural gas prices will increase as of April.
But shortly after, the country’s energy regulatory authority ANRE denied the information and said gas prices would remain unchanged in 2010 if the winter period doesn’t last too long and the gas transport system works at normal parameters.
Household gas prices in Romania are the lowest in Europe, at 50% of the EU average. In 2009, Romania lowered household gas prices by 8%.
