On the month in May, seasonally adjusted industrial production fell by 1.4% in the EU27 compared with April.
On the year in May, industrial production decreased by 0.5% in the EU27 compared with May 2007.
Romania accounted for an industrial production up 0.5% on the month in May compared with April 2008, while Ireland for 13.3%, and Bulgaria for a 3.3% hike.
Lithuania accounted for a 7.5% decrease in industrial production, the Nederland for a 6% decrease, Portugal for an industrial production down 5.7%, while Latvia for a 5.6% decrease.
Romania ranked sixth among the countries reporting information on industrial production, with a 4.1% hike on the year in May, nearing Slovenia with a 4% increase and Finland with a 4.3% hike.
Belgium, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta and Austria did not send data on the industrial production, Eurostat said.
