Defense Ministry Announces Purchase of Over 900 Wheeled Transport Platforms

Romania’s Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday the signing of a contract for the purchase of more than 900 wheeled transport platforms for the Romanian Army.

The contract, worth approximately RON1 billion, will include the acquisition of 942 platforms within integrated facilities in Romania’s defense industry, according to a ministry statement.

The offset value assumed by the provider is of at least 80% of the contracts’ value, without VAT.

The contract is part of a framework agreement signed with Italy based IVECO Defence Vehicle SPA, for the future purchase of a total number of 2,902 wheeled transport platforms in various configurations, over subsequent contracts.
