„We need administrative reorganization. We are still using the administrative organization applied before the Revolution, which came into force in 1968. Nobody can say anything about regional projects as long as we are unable to step out of the administrative organization applied before the revolution,” Basescu said.

He added Romania’s current administrative organization was justified by the system before 1989, put it can no longer „withstand” even regional projects.

„Administrative reorganization is essential. Let alone the fact that the Lisbon Treaty, all regulations of the European Union, favor such a reorganization of territory, for the financing of regional interest projects,” Basescu.
