Romanian Govt To Reduce Period For Authorized Pvt Individual Registration

Romania’s minister for small and medium-sized enterprises, commerce, tourism and liberal professions, Ovidiu Silaghi, told a press conference Tuesday that the government plans to reduce the period needed to register an Authorized Private Individual (PFA) to three days from the current three months.

Silaghi explained this measure is highly necessary, given that the field of micro-enterprises is fading out, which means, authorized private individuals have more opportunities to step in.

"Unfortunately, in Romania, it takes two-three months to register an authorized private individual. We receive more and more requests from companies interested in operating as PFA and we cannot wait two-three months; therefore, we shall reduce the procedure down to three days. I do not think it is normal to set up a limited liability company more easily than to register as PFA," Silaghi stressed.
