“I wish to mention that the aid is not meant to rebuild houses, but for urgent social and family necessities,” Pacuraru said.
He said emergency aid for the flood victims is to be granted based on the seriousness of each case. People whose houses were completely destroyed will benefit from emergency aid worth 800 lei (EUR1-RON3.4763) each, while people whose houses were partially destroyed will receive aids of RON500 and RON300.
The authorities are expected to finish related documentation on the situation in counties Iasi, Neamt and Suceava by Friday, so that the payments in these counties will begin immediately, Pacuraru mentioned.
Five people died and thousands others have been evacuated in northeastern Romania after severe storms and floods end July.
