Romania Healthcare Salary Might Increase By 35% – Draft Law

Romania’s latest version of the single and unitary salary law in the public system stipulates a 35% pay raise for personnel in the healthcare system, compared to the 75% raise in the previous version of the draft law.

The managers of hospitals with over 400 beds are the top earners under the latest draft act, with a monthly salary of up to 5,400 lei (EUR1-RON4.2143), while medical directors will earn between RON5,100 and RON5,130 a month.

For hospitals with less than 400 beds, monthly salaries range between RON4,920 and RON5,040 for general managers, while medical directors will be paid between RON4,800 and RON4,920.

Resident first year physicians will make RON1,950 a month, with the figure reaching up to RON2,550 a month in the last year of residency. Interns will earn RON1,500 a month.

At the opposite end, the auxiliary staff (nurses and ambulance drivers) will earn between RON810 and RON880 a month.
